A Malaysian company, Metro Kajang Holding (MKH) Berhad plans to
invest in several sectors, including farming and tourism, in Lombok and
Sumbawa, West Nusa Tenggara (NTB).
The plan was revealed
during the visit of the company’s management and officials from the
Office of the Coordinating Economic Minister to the province on
Wednesday.
“We have an interest to invest in Lombok and
Sumbawa, especially in cattle breeding, tourism and mining businesses.
We will study [the plan] thoroughly,” company executive Alex Chen told
reporters after a meeting at the NTB regional secretary office.
NTB
administration spokesman Saharuddin said that the company was
interested in investing in the businesses of meat processing, as well as
metal, copper, marble stone and iron sand mining.
“The company is also interested in establishing a plant producing snacks made of corn and beans,” Saharuddin said.
He added that the administration would give incentives to companies interested in investing in the region.
